Understanding Your Contract - LRD's guide to employment contracts
Employer imposed changes are frequent feature of industrial relations today. But in law, an employer cannot unilaterally decide to change a contract.

Understanding Your Contract - LRD's guide to employment contracts arms trade unionists with fully-updated information on contract law, to enable them to successfully challenge these changes and require employers to maintain the status quo.

Knowing what the law says and being able to show that the employer has acted unlawfully is vital for trade unionists involved in negotiations, or contemplating legal action. This booklet explains all the legislation in force in May 1999 and quotes extensively from case law. Most importantly, it demonstrates how it can be used to defend and enforce workers' rights.
