State Benefits 1999
The Labour Research Department (LRD) is today publishing the 1999 edition of its annual guide to State Benefits.

State Benefits 1999 covers the full range of both means- tested and non-means-tested benefits in force in April 1999. For each benefit it sets out the qualifying conditions, explains how to calculate benefit entitlement, gives details of how to make a claim and gives the 1999-2000 benefit rate payable from April.

LRD's annual guide to state benefits has become a recognised source of concise and up-to-date information on what has become an increasingly complex benefits system. Written in straightforward language aimed at assisting claimants through the benefits maze, it will be an invaluable resource for trade unionists who wish to claim benefits for themselves or their family, or who are advising members on benefits to which they may be entitled.
